Erin and Kayvon’s Laurel Hall wedding in Indianapolis was everything you would imagine in a fairytale. Ballrooms, ballroom gown, castle-like settings, and on and on! This was hands-down the most beautifully curated wedding I’ve ever photographed. Beyond the setting and all of the details, Erin and Kayvon are two of the most loving people. They are kind and genuine.
As we entered the gated community where Laurel Hall resides in Indianapolis, and approached the large estate, we knew this wedding was going to be so special. Then we entered the doors and we were greeted by Erin and Kayvon’s family. The sweetest people on this planet! They were so warm and welcoming. Everyone had huge smiles on their faces while introducing each other. We knew immediately why Erin and Kayvon are such incredible people– they came from incredible roots!
Their wedding ceremony was part Persian and part American/traditional. Seeing the beautiful traditions of a Persian wedding was my favorite part of their ceremony. They sat in front of a sofreh, that is adorned with special items that are all special to them and their tradition. Eggs for fertility and coins for wealth are some the items that are included in the sofreh aghd. While their officiant carried out the wedding ceremony, a chuppah (fabric canopy) was placed above them– carried by their mothers and bridesmaids. They also shared honey with each other by dipping their fingers and sharing it with one another. It is such a beautiful tradition, rich with history!
I truly could go on and on about this day. Everything from the couple, to the families, the venue to the vendors was absolute perfection! I’m ecstatic to share this beautiful wedding with you!! Huge congratulations to Mr + Mrs. Emtiaz!
Sharing of the honey.
