“Here is to one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.” Sam + Josh had been waiting for this day. A day that was filled with many promises and lots of excitement! If I could sum up their day in one word, it would be ‘perfect’. Knowing that this is Sam’s big day, how could it not have been? This gorgeous couple had thought of every detail to make their day beyond beautiful. They were married in the IHM Motherhouse Chapel, a beautiful chapel filled with white stone arches, and massive stained glass windows that one would think you could only find in Europe. It was a dream of Sam’s to be married in this beautiful cathedral, but it wasn’t only her dream. It was shared by her mother, as well. Sam’s mother passed away suddenly months before the wedding day. The only thing missing from her wedding day, was her. There were so many warm sentiments in her mother’s honor on the day of the wedding. Though she couldn’t be there in person, I’m positive God allows loved ones to have a front row seat in heaven to watch days such as this.
It was during the reception that I felt like I got to know them even better. It’s always so amazing during toasts and speeches, when the maid of honor and best man tell such incredibly stories about the couple that you feel like you know them that much more. Alex’ speech, who is Sam’s twin sister and maid of honor, described a relationship between two sisters that we all would be envious of. She vowed with Josh that he would never be able to get rid of Sam, or herself. Wherever Sam is, Alex would sure to be close by. She spoke on how she believed that her mom knew they would be twins, so that they could lean on each other during this hard time. The toasts ended with an incredible video that Josh had made for Sam. It was filled with memories of the two of them over the years, and even some short videos of Sam trying on her dress for the first time at the bridal shop with her mom by her side. Josh vowed that he would take care of her always and promised to always make her laugh in the darkest of days.
The night ended with tons of people on the dance floor, and the most beautiful sunset photos. This wedding was incredible from start to finish! Congrats to you, Sam + Josh. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of capturing these moments for you!
