I cannot think of two people more deserving of this beautiful wedding. Seriously, this day was perfect in all ways. Sarah + Mitch’s Empyrean wedding in downtown Fort Wayne was every bit of the wedding that you would find in a beautiful magazine. The venue, the flowers, the dress… I could go on and on. Even with all the beautiful details and flowers, what stood out above it all was LOVE.
I see lots of relationships, lots of people entering a new season in their lives, but when it comes to Sarah + Mitch– they will stick out above all the others in my memory. Why you may ask? There was a moment right before the ceremony that Sarah’s sister came to find me. She said that Sarah wanted to do a moment where she could hold Mitch’s hand (without seeing each other) before walking down the aisle. With 10 minutes before the start of the ceremony, we made it happen! We found a little nook outside and set up the moment that they could share together. What I didn’t know, and didn’t realize until it was happening– Sarah said quietly while she was holding his hand, “I really needed this.” She needed his touch, she needed his presence, she needed that affirmation. I realized then that they have the type of relationship that holds each other up. When Sarah is feeling nervous, Mitch is her strength. He is her calm. He is her steady. That is SPECIAL.
As everyone began to be seated and the music started playing, Sarah walked down the aisle with her father. Mitch had the most beautiful reaction to his Bride, and they were both crowned (a Greek Orthodox wedding tradition, how cool is that?!). They were pronounced husband and wife, and the rest is history!
The reception at the Empyrean in downtown Fort Wayne was filled with so many rich Greek traditions including Macedonian dancing! It was my first time being surrounded by these amazing traditions– and it was a blast!! Please, bring on more Macedonian dancing… I need more of it in my life!
Huge congrats to the new happy couple! Sarah + Mitch, your day was beyond perfect!
